In the early hours, Bobby Reid, Michail Antonio, and Ethan Pinnock all started for Jamaica in their 0-0 draw at home to Cuba in the CONCACAF nations league group phase.

How the Premier League's stars got on in Saturday's action

Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, Wilfred Ndiid, and Alex Iwobi started for Nigeria in their 3-0 win at home to Benin in AFCON qualifying. Andre Onana, Carlos Baleba, and Bryan Mbuemo started for Cameroon in their 1-0 win at home to Namibia, also in AFCON qualifying.

There was plenty of Premier League representation as Ireland hosted England in the nations league. Caoimhin Kelleher, Seamus Coleman, Nathan Collins, Dara O'Shea, Matt Doherty, Will Smallbone, Chiedozie Ogbene, and Sammie Szmodics for Ireland, whilst Jake O'Brien, Kasey McAteer, and Evan Ferguson came on.

Jordan Pickford, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Marc Guehi, Harry Maguire, Levi Colwill, Declan Rice, Kobbie Mainoo, Jack Grealish, Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon all started for England, with Morgan Gibbs-White, Eberechi Eze, Jarrod Bowen and John Stones were introduced in the second half. Rice and Grealish grabbed the goals in a 2-0 win, as the scriptwriters worked overtime.

Club team mates Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek played the 90 minutes for Czechia in the nations league as they fell to a 4-1 defeat to Georgia in a rematch of the Euro 2024 group stages.

Bart Verbruggen, Matthijs De Ligt, Virgil Van Dijk, Nathan Ake, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo and Joshua Zirkzee all started for the Netherlands in their 5-2 win at home to Bosnia & Hergegovina in the nations league, whilst Jurrien Timber came on in the second half. Gakpo and Zirkzee were amongst the goalscorers.

Kai Havertz and Niclas Fullkrug both started, and scored, in Germany's 5-0 demolishing of Hungary in the same nations league group. Dominik Szoboszlai and Milos Kerkez started for the visitors. The two five star sides will play against each other on Tuesday night.

Illia Zabarnyi and Vitaliy Myokolenko both started for Ukraine in their 1-2 defet at home to Albania in the nations league, with Oleksandr Zinchenko a late substitute.
