N'Golo Kante in talks to make a sensational return to the Premier League
N'Golo Kante could make a shock return to Premier League football, as West Ham have submitted an official offer for the 33-year-old French international.
N'Golo Kante left Chelsea in 2023 to join Saudi side Al-Ittihad after seven successful years at Stamford Bridge, winning both the Premier League and the Champions League. He was also a crucial part of the memorable Leicester City squad that won the PL crown in 2016.
N'Golo Kante was offered by West Ham to return to the Premier League
West Ham have approached Al-Ittihad over a possible deal for N'Golo Kante, reports The Guardian. The Hammers have offered 20 million pounds for the French midfielder, according to the same source.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, but mentioned that Al-Ittihad will be hard to convince to let go of Kante.
West Ham are exploring the market for a defensive midfielder after Kalvin Phillips failed to make an impression on loan from Manchester City last season and his move was not made permanent.
N'Golo Kante featured in all of France's games at EURO 2024 and left a good mark throughout the tournament. Even though he is 33, he is still considered to be a top defensive midfielder.
Kante's contract with Al Ittihad expires in 2026. His deal with the Saudi side is worth a reported 86 million pounds.

West Ham already signed ex-Wolves defender Max Kilman and Brazilian youngster Luis Guilherme for a combined fee of 60 million pounds this summer. Additionally, they signed backup keeper Wes Foderingham for free.
This summer, the Hammers appointed Spanish manager Julen Lopetegui, after David Moyes ended his five-year spell at the club.
