Out of all the teams in the top half of the Premier League table this season, Manchester United has scored the least amount of goals (18). Rasmus Hojlund has yet to open his account in the Premier League. And, Scott McTominay is the leading goal scorer for United this year in the Premier League. This shows how badly the Red Devils are performing in front of goal. Also, they are struggling defensively which tells the story of the season so far for Manchester United. That is why it is expected that Man Utd will spend a good amount of money this January with a defender who seems to be the key target for Erik ten Hag. However, he would also want to invest in his forward line and his primary target for that would be the 21-year-old Spaniard, Nico Williams.

Nico Williams to Man Utd: Athletic Club Bilbao wants €100 million

According to reports from Spain, Manchester United is looking to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club Bilbao. However, the Spanish club could demand a fee of around €100 million. This could prove to be a hurdle for United as they would struggle to pay that money due to Financial Fair Play rules. However, Erik ten Hag is keen on signing the Spanish forward who has impressed many clubs across Europe. After falling out with Jadon Sancho, Erik ten Hag is desperate for a winger and Antony has been struggling since joining United. Therefore, if Sancho leaves United in January, Nico Williams would be a perfect replacement for him. Many would argue that Williams would be an upgrade on Sancho who struggled to perform since joining Man Utd from Dortmund. So, Nico Williams to Man Utd could happen if the Red Devils can pay €100 million.
