European football heavyeights vie for the services of the highly-rated RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, with the summer window ready to witness one of the most anticipated transfer battles in recent history.

The Bundesliga forward is a rising star with the potential to be one of the prolific strikers of the modern era.

La Liga giants Barcelona were already in pursuit as they are looking for a replacement of Robert Lewandowski and view Sesko as a worthy successor at Camp Nou.

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old’s current contract at Leipzig runs until June 2028, but, with the news of his €50 million release clause set to be active over the upcoming summer window, it can be expected that a transfer frenzy is surely on the cards, as per Goal.com.

Premier League trio Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool have entered the race and are ready to trigger a bidding war among the top-tier clubs for Sesko.

However, the €50 million (£43m/$54m) price tag may seem steep for Sesko’s age, but, scouts from the aforementioned clubs believe that if the Slovenian striker continues to perform consistently, he has the ability to exceed the £100 million valuation. In that case, investing as early as this summer, even if for the exit clause price, would result in securing Sesko for a bargain.

Analyzing the striker’s exploits this season, Sesko initially took time to settle to life in Germany but he has adapted well since switching from Salzburg last summer. The youngster has begun to shine on the pitch as he scored in his last three Bundesliga outings, including Leipzig’s win over Union Berlin and the draw against Augsburg.

Sesko was one of the standout performers in the Champions League clash against Real Madrid last Tuesday, which although ended in defeat, but his goal-scoring prowess kept Los Blancos goalkeeper Andriy Lunin busy through the entirety of the match. He found the back of the net early in the tie, only to ruled out by VAR.

Arsenal are in search of a striker to fill the void in their squad while City and Liverpool have established forwards in their ranks in Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez. It remains to be seen if Sesko arrives in the Premier League, which club will he be battling for a place in the starting lineup which already boosts quality attackers.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also closely monitoring the situation and could be in the mix, with much depending on where both clubs finish at the end of the 2023-24 season.
