Kyle Walker (7/10) was brilliant going forward and defensively with his rapid pace. Manuel Akanji (6/10) started the game well and could cope with the relentless pressure of Liverpool right at the end. Nathan Ake (6/10) also had a good game as he was going forward often. John Stones (8/10)* didn’t put a foot wrong as he was amazing going forward and defensively and scored an intelligent goal to put City in front. He is arguably the player of the match for Manchester City.

In the midfield, Rodri (5/10) didn’t look comfortable as he failed to dominate the midfield and got himself booked right at the end of the first half. Bernardo Silva (5/10) was invisible most of the time and it is hard to remember his contribution to this game. Kevin De Bruyne (6/10) did get the assist for the goal as the corner was taken intelligently. Julian Alvarez (6/10) played decently as he got into good positions in the left flank. Erling Haaland (8/10) was a flop in the game as he did nothing significant to make a difference. Phil Foden (7/10) ran around a lot but failed to make any significant contribution to the City’s attack.

When it comes to the substitutes for Man City vs Liverpool, Pep brought on Stefan Ortega (7/10) for Ederson in the 56th minute and he was brilliant saving many chances that Liverpool had right at the end of the game. In the 69th minute of the game, Pep brought on Jeremy Doku (7/10) for Alvarez and he did well getting in behind the Liverpool defence quite a lot. At the same time, Mateo Kovacic (5/10) came on for De Bruyne and City’s attacks started to look blunt. The manager Pep Guardiola (6/10) will not be happy with the result as he wanted three points. However, not dropping points will also be a plus point for Manchester City.
