Former Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta has performed splendidly as Arsenal manager since joining in 2019. The Spanish boss has extended his Arsenal contract until 2027.

Arsenal have started the season well. They have achieved seven points out of a possible nine but remain unbeaten at this stage. They were hard-done-by to go down to ten men against Brighton and Hove Albion before the international break but nevertheless, they remain in the top four.

Next up for Arsenal, it's an away trip against Tottenham Hotspur. Needless to say, it's the biggest game of their season so far and the fixture which every Arsenal fan looks out for when the schedule is announced.

Now, they have received a major psychological boost in the buildup.

Major boost as Mikel Arteta extends his Arsenal contract until 2027

According to the BBC, Mikel Arteta has agreed a new contract extension with Arsenal. Where his former contract expired in 2025, Mikel Arteta has now penned a new deal which will see him under contract at the Emirates Stadium until 2027.

Mikel Arteta is one of the best managers in the world right now. While his coaching style might be unorthodox at times, there is nobody better for the Arsenal job.

Under the tutelage of Mikel Arteta, a lot is expected of the Arsenal players. However, being under the mentorship of a serial winner who loves the club serves them well as it inspires the best out of everyone.

Being a young manager, Mikel Arteta is bound to be one of the most in-demand managers out there. However, Arteta has been nothing but respectful to the club he professes to love, not entertaining any potential move elsewhere.

Over the last two seasons, Arsenal have fell at the final hurdle in the Premier League. While they have challenged Man City, they are yet to get their hands on the trophy for the first time since the Invincibles season.

As Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has won one FA Cup and two Community Shields. He won the FA Cup against Chelsea and the Community Shields against Liverpool and Man City respectively, so he hasn't had it easy in any competition.

Right now, Arsenal are in a good place. No matter which match they approach, fans have every reason to feel confident. This is a rare feeling, particularly for those of us who remember the days of Rob Holding and Shkodran Mustafi.
