At the end of the first half at Anfield, Liverpool fans would have been happy with a draw. However, what they did to Manchester City in the second half, Liverpool fans will disappointed as they should have won the game. As a result of this draw that we predicted in our preview article, Liverpool dropped to the second place in the Premier League behind Arsenal. Alexis Mac Allister converted the penalty that Darwin Nunez won to cancel out the lead Manchester City got through a brilliant corner that De Bruyne took and Stones finished. Let’s start the Liverpool player ratings vs Man City in their 1-1 draw in the Premier League at Anfield with the goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher (7/10) who played brilliantly whenever he was needed to keep City at bay. Conor Bradley (7/10) was brilliant going forward as he played some good balls into the box and defensively he was good too. Jarell Quansah (6/10) looked calm and composed and didn’t put a foot wrong. Virgil van Dijk (6/10) made mistakes in this game but showed his leadership skills. Joe Gomez (7/10) once again played out of his normal position as the left-back and once again he was brilliant. Later on, he switched to the right-back when Andy Robertson came in and didn’t put a foot wrong there as well.   

In the midfield, Wataru Endo (5/10) was invisible in the game and didn’t have any impact. Alexis Mac Allister (8/10) converted the penalty and was a key factor in Liverpool’s dominance in the midfield. Dominik Szoboszlai (6/10) played a decent game but had to be subbed off. Luis Diaz (9/10)* was a menace to City’s defence as they had a hard time containing him and surely, he is the player of the match for Liverpool. Darwin Nunez (7/10) won the penalty as he was pressing well and could have got a goal if he was clinical. Harvey Elliot (6/10) ran around a lot as he played with a full heart and after Salah came on, he played in the midfield as well.

When it comes to the substitutes for Liverpool vs Man City, Klopp brought on Mohamed Salah (7/10) for Szoboszlai in the 61st minute of the game which was a right move as he took control of the game going forward and created problems for City’s backline. At the same time, Klopp brought on Andy Robertson (6/10) for Bradley as Liverpool started to attack more from the left-hand side. Cody Gakpo (5/10) came on in the 76th minute to close out the match replacing Darwin Nunez and could have scored the winner for Liverpool but failed. The manager Jurgen Klopp (7/10) at the start of the game would have been happy with a draw but in the end, with the chances his team got, he would be a bit disappointed as Liverpool dropped to the second spot behind Arsenal.
