On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool went to enemy territory and defeated their bitter rivals Manchester United.
The warnings signs were there early on, after Trent Alexander-Arnold thought he had opened the scoring for Liverpool, only for Mo Salah to have been ruled offside.
Half an hour later, a stray pass from Casemiro gave Liverpool possession inside the United half, and Salah crossed for Luis Diaz to head home at the far post.
Man United 0-3 Liverpool as it happened
History would repeat itself, as Casemiro was caught on the ball inside his own half, as Liverpool broke away, before Salah played the ball to Diaz who sidefooted the ball first time into the bottom corner, to make it two for him and two for Liverpool.
Then, ten minutes into the second half, Liverpool once again won the ball high up the pitch, as Szoboszlai teed up Salah who emphatically placed the ball into the near bottom corner, to make it three goals and three points for Arne Slot's side.
United did have chances, with new signing from Bologna Joshua Zirkzee missing two presentable opportunities, having been found by Marcus Rashford on both occassions.
That said, Liverpool were very deserving of their victory and the same old tales popped up for Manchester United. Poor individual mistakes, a lack of cohesion, identity, work rate, team spirit, tactics, and so on.
Meanwhile, it is three wins from three to kick off the Arne Slot era in the perfect way for Liverpool heading into the September international break, as they remain the only team in the Premier League not to have conceded a single goal this season, and scored eight goals themselves in the process.
Diaz particularly looks like a man reborn, with three goals in the first three games. He only scored eight goals the entirety of last season, showing just how much confidence the Colombian international is in right now.
