Well, it looks like the transfer rumours surrounding Kieran McKenna's managerial future are coming to an end. As per Sky Sports News, Kieran McKenna has accepted the offer from Ipswich Town to sign a new contract and extend his stay at the club.

Kieran McKenna rewarded with new contract at Ipswich

Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna was in demand across England following his exploits with the club. He had helped them secure back-to-back promotions and propelled them towards the Premier League within three years of being appointed as the manager. He was also chosen as the League Managers Association's Manager of the Year for 2023/24. Consequently, he was approached by the bigger clubs to become their manager. His age and the style of play he emphasizes were vital reasons he was in such demand.

According to Sky Sports, McKenna's new contract will soon be ready and he is expected to sign them on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. This will end all speculation linking him with either Manchester United or Brighton. Kieran Mckenna will then focus on preparing for the new season with Ipswich Town who have returned to the Premier League after 22 years.

Chelsea, Manchester United, and Brighton were the major clubs showing an interest in him. Chelsea have moved on from McKenna and are now closer to appointing Leicester City's Enzo Maresca. Brighton were considered the favourites to land McKenna following Roberto De Zerbi's departure. But the new contract will have ended any hopes of appointing him as their new boss. As a result, Brighton are still searching for an ideal candidate. Meanwhile, Manchester United are yet to make an official decision regarding Erik ten Hag's future. But it is believed he will soon be sacked from his position despite defeating Premier League champions Manchester City to win the FA Cup.
