Both teams have scored in each of the last six Premier League meetings between these two sides, with Chelsea prevailing 3-2 and 2-1 last season, so another entertaining affair is likely to be on the cards.

Chelsea vs Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Whisper it quietly, are Chelsea actually good now? Last weekend, the Blues swatted aside West Ham 3-0 at the London Stadium, with Nicolas Jackson bagging a quick-fire early brace, before Cole Palmer rubber stamped the points immediately after half time.

This made it three consecutive Premier League away wins, even if Enzo Maresca is still yet to taste victory in the league at Stamford Bridge; the last Blues boss who failed to win any of their first three home league games in charge is Bobby Campbell in 1988.

Having said that, Chelsea did enjoy a home win in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, smashing Barrow 5-0, with Christopher Nkunku bagging a hat-trick, while João Félix and Pedro Neto were also on target. So, can the Blues continue to build momentum?

Brighton & Hove Albion meanwhile are still unbeaten, unlike their hosts, with Fabian Hürzeler having made the longest unbeaten start of any Brighton head coach since Peter Taylor 23 years ago.

The Seagulls though have drawn each of their last three, most-recently held to a 2-2 stalemate by Nottingham Forest last Sunday; Jack Hinshelwood heading home an equaliser, before Danny Welbeck curled in the first free-kick goal of his career.

After this, Brighton face Tottenham, Newcastle, Liverpool and Man City between now and 9 November, making this the start of a nightmarish fixture list so, if Hürzeler is still undefeated by then, he'll be doing a pretty good job.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Fabian Hürzeler's team have had a whole week to prepare for this one, and the manager will be allowed in his technical area, despite being sent off last Sunday.

In less good news, João Pedro is injured, as are James Milner and Matt O'Riley, but Pervis Estupiñán is back, starting in the league for the first time since 6 April last weekend, thereby set to keep his place, chosen over Ferdi Kadıoğlu.

Brighton & Hove Albion predicted lineup vs Chelsea: (4-4-1-1): Verbruggen; Veltman, Dunk, Van Hecke, Estupiñán; Hinshelwood, Baleba, Adingra, Mitoma, Rutter; Welbeck.
