Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League: TV channel, prediction, team news and lineups
By Ben Gray
Brighton battered Tottenham 4-2 the last time these two met in Sussex last December, meaning Spurs have actually lost three of their last five visits to the Amex, so which way will this Sunday afternoon clash go?
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview
Can Tottenham continue to build momentum by claiming yet another win? Last Sunday, Spurs swatted aside Manchester United at Old Trafford with unerringly little difficulty. Brennan Johnson broke the deadlock inside three minutes, tapping home after Micky van de Ven's 60 yard, Forrest Gump-esque escapade up field, before both Dejan Kuluševski and then Dominic Solanke struck after the interval to make the points secure.
Then, on Thursday night, Ange Postecoglou's side continued their perfect start in the Europa League by beating Ferencváros 2-1; Pape Matar Sarr and Johnson again the scorers in Budapest. This made it five successive victories across all competitions, with Spurs now seeking to extend that streak to six, something they have not achieved since November 2018.
This though will not be easy, given that Brighton & Hove Albion kick off just one point and one place below their visitors from 56 miles north. Last weekend, Fabian Hürzeler was beaten for the first time as Brighton boss, defeated 4-2 at Chelsea, with all the goals coming during a frenetic first half, including Georginio Rutter breaking the deadlock and then Carlos Baleba halving the deficit, but ultimately to no avail.
Prior to this, the Seagulls has endured three successive draws, held by both Ipswich and then Nottingham Forest at the Amex, but the South Coast side have looked generally impressive, suggesting they will be competing for the European places. This should be a more than entertaining affair, given the prime-time Sunday afternoon slot, but which way will it go?

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News
Joël Veltman missed the defeat at Chelsea due to illness, meaning Ferdi Kadıoğlu, usually a left-back, filled in on the right, but there is optimism that the Dutchman will be able to return. His compatriot Jan Paul van Hecke though is still sidelined, as are Matt O'Riley and Solly March, while João Pedro is unlikely to be available either due to an ankle problem.
Brighton & Hove Albion predicted lineup vs Tottenham Hotspur: (4-1-4-1): Verbruggen; Veltman, Dunk, Webster, Estupiñán; Hinshelwood, Baleba, Wieffer, Rutter, Mitoma; Welbeck.
Brighton & Hove Albion Player to Watch vs Tottenham Hotspur
Danny Welbeck already has three Premier League goals to his name this season, although he's only ever scored twice in 24 career appearances against Tottenham, both for Manchester United back in August 2011 and January 2014, failing to net in 14 attempts since the latter, so can he end this streak here?
Tottenham Hotspur Team News
Ange Postecoglou made seven changes for Thursday's win over Ferencváros, including handing starts to a pair of teenaged forwards, namely Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear, but all the familiar faces will return here. Neither club captain Son Heung-min nor Destiny Udogie traveled to Budapest although this was not by choice, with the duo both unlikely to feature here either due to injury. The question remains, will it be Djed Spence, as he did at Old Trafford, or Ben Davies, after he started in mid-week, who deputises at left-back?
Tottenham Hotspur predicted lineup vs Brighton & Hove Albion: (4-1-4-1): Vicario; Porro, van de Ven, Romero, Spence; Bentancur, Kuluševski, Maddison, Johnson, Werner; Solanke.
Tottenham Hotspur Player to Watch vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Brennan Johnson has now scored in five successive appearances, on target against Coventry, Brentford, Qarabağ, Man United and now Ferencváros, so can he keep that streak going in Sussex?
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction
We'd be frankly astonished if there weren't plenty of goals in this one, but we can't seperate these two, hence why we're going for a high-scoring draw. Even after their win at Man United, Spurs have won only four of their last 16 away league games, losing five of the last nine, so it would require a real turn up for the books for them to beat Brighton: Brighton & Hove Albion 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur.
