Arsenal player ratings vs Porto in their 1-0 loss in the Champions League

Arsenal conceded a late goal to lose their UEFA Champions League round of 16 first-leg encounter against Porto. It was a disappointing result for the Gunners as they were in great form going into this game. So, how did Arsenal players perform in this game against Porto? Let's start Arsenal player ratings vs Porto in the Champions League with the goalkeeper David Raya (6/10). He had nothing to do with the goal Porto scored. Ben White (6/10) tried his best but it was not his day. William Saliba (5/10) missed a sitter and had an off day in the defence. The same can be said about his partner Gabriel Magalhaes (5/10) who also missed a scoring chance. Jakub Kiwior (5/10) was weak during tackles but he was decent when he had the ball in possession.

As far as the midfield goes for Arsenal, Declan Rice (7/10) was the standout performer and probably the man of the match although he could have prevented the goal by getting a bit tighter to Porto's Galeno. Martin Odegaard (6/10) was as flawless as he always is and his passing was brilliant. But, the outcome was missing. Kai Havertz (5/10) had a poor game as he couldn't create any impact on the game as a midfielder for Arsenal.

When it comes to the attack for Arsenal, Gabriel Martinelli (4/10) was pocketed by his marker and he lost the ball before Porto got the winner. Leandro Trossard (5/10) started the game as the striker but rarely did anything to create an impact. Arsenal fans had high hopes for Bukayo Saka (5/10) but he was disappointing. Hopefully, he will have a better game when the two teams meet at the Emirates.

As for the substitutes for Arsenal, Jorginho (5/10) came on in the 74th minute as a replacement for Trossard. He was the only substitute in this game for Arsenal. Manager Mikel Arteta (5/10) will be disappointed with this result as it derails the momentum he was building for the backend of the season.
