Agent reveals Jurgen Klopp's stance amid Bayern Munich link and Liverpool exit
Premier League heavyweights Liverpool are actively in pursuit of a manager, who would be taking the reins at the club, following Jurgen Klopp’s announcement last month that he will be leaving Anfield at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, on the back of a tumultuous campaign, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have issued a statement confirming Thomas Tuchel will be vacating his post this summer.
Amid speculation linking Jurgen Klopp to Bayern Munich, the Liverpool manager's agent has unequivocally stated Klopp's commitment to a year-long break, dismissing any likelihood of a swift move to the Bavarian club.
Marc Kosicke, Klopp’s agent, rejecting rumors of a potential move to the German top-flight, told Sky Germany:
"Jurgen Klopp will not coach any club or national team for a year after this current season. That remains unchanged."
This comes in the wake of Tuchel's impending departure from Bayern and the Bundesliga champions’ search for a new boss.
Klopp remains focused on Liverpool as the Reds take on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, and compete against the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal for the Premier League title.
However, the scenario at Bayern Munich, is quite a contrast, as the Allianz Arena-based outfit are currently eight points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, alongside being knocked out of the DFB-Pokal in the second round by third-tier side Saarbrucken and losing the first-leg against Lazio in the round of 16 clash in the Champions League.
Showdown talks took place earlier this week, with the club releasing a statement that they will be parting ways with Tuchel at the end of this term, an association originally set to run until the summer of 2025.
A managerial shake-up is in the cards for Liverpool and Bayern, with Xabi Alonso emerging as a potential candidate for both clubs, as they explore the options for a new head coach to take charge at their respective clubs.
