2024-2025 Premier League highest-paid players. Do they deserve the money?
According to Capology, these are the Premier League's highest earners.
1. Kevin De Bruyne - £220.000 Net Weekly
Manchester City's mastermind is the highest-paid Premier League player. He worked his magic outside the pitch too, by negotiating his contract all by himself, without the involvement of any agent. Six-time English champion and Champions League winner, the Belgian not only became a club legend at the Etihad but also one of the Premier League's all-time greats. No debate, whatever may be his salary, he deserves every penny of it.
2. Erling Haaland - £206,000 Net Weekly
Another Manchester City player at the top. Erling Haaland only arrived two years ago in England but has taken the league by storm since then. Breaking the single-season Premier League goalscoring record in his debut campaign and helping his team lift the Champions League for the first time, followed by another title last term. He may cost Man City a lot of money, but he's always delivered on the pitch.
3. Mohamed Salah - £192,500 Net Weekly
The only Liverpool player in the top 10. In fact, after Salah, the second best-paid Reds player is Virgil van Dijk, at £120,000, 21st in the Premier League rankings. The Merseyside club is known to not have the same financial resources as the other Top 6 teams, but Liverpool still managed to be successful in the last seven years. Mainly thanks to former manager Jurgen Klopp, but also Mohamed Salah. 263 Premier League goals, 157 goals. Starring in Liverpool's only title-winning season in the last 30 years. No doubt, the Egyptian king deserves all the money he earns.
4. Casemiro - £192,500 Net Weekly
Here is where the debate begins. Casemiro signed for Manchester United from Real Madrid in 2022 and had a solid first season, helping the Red Devils to a third-place finish in the league. But the Brazilian fell off last campaign, putting on many underwhelming performances. Many fans want him gone already because of his huge salary and what he offers on the pitch. At 32, Casemiro still has two years left on his deal and won't want to let go of his huge pay very soon. Is he worth almost 200,000 pounds weekly?

5. Raheem Sterling - £179,000 Net Weekly
With over 100 league goals, 82 caps for England, and four titles to his name, Raheem Sterling's career looks, at least on paper, spectacular. He had moments when he was unstoppable but failed to leave his legacy as one of the best. Now at 29, he barely makes an impact at Chelsea. Sterling is just a former shadow of the exciting winger he was at Man City and Liverpool. Very questionable if he truly deserves £179,000 weekly.
6. Romelu Lukaku - £179,000 Net Weekly
97 million pounds only to return on loan to the same club he was bought from. Romelu Lukaku's second spell at Chelsea has been difficult, to say the least. He was meant to be the final piece that would transform the Blues into the best team in the world, after winning the Champions League a month before his arrival. Unfortunately for Chelsea fans, things haven't turned out as planned, for neither the club or Lukaku. He is still under contract with the Stamford Bridge side until 2026. No team wants to pay his huge salary and Chelsea don't include him in their plans. A problem that seems to have no solution.
7. Bernardo Silva - £165,000 Net Weekly
The third Manchester City player on this list. But, just like De Bruyne and Haaland, he is worth every penny. A crucial player in Guardiola's system and a famous figure in the dressing room, Bernardo Silva has everything he needs to already be considered a legend at Man City and one of the best Premier League players in the last decade. The champions will do everything to keep him at the club, amid the strong interest from Barcelona and PSG.
8. Marcus Rashford - £165,000 Net Weekly
There would be no debate involving Marcus Rashford on this topic if this article had been published one year ago. 30 goals and 10 assists in all competitions in 2022/23, followed by a disappointing return last season of only 13 goal contributions in 43 games. Overall, Rashford has played over 400 games for Man Utd and is yet to hit the 150 goals landmark. He needs to step up his game next season to justify that salary.
9. Jack Grealish - £165,000 Net Weekly

Grealish was impressive in Man City's treble-winning campaign, but had a rather disappointing season last term, with fewer minutes and goal involvements. As a result, he missed out on England's squad for EURO 2024. It's fair to admit Guardiola's highly structured system limits Grealish's creativity on the pitch, but there is no excuse for a 98 million pounds signing to miss out on the starting XI. Like Rashford, Grealish has to deliver more next season.
10. Kai Havertz - £154,000 Net Weekly
The German put on solid performances at times for Arsenal last season but still looks short of his full potential. Havertz was highly criticized by most Gunners' fans when he signed from Chelsea last summer and still has many doubters. When considering other Arsenal players who have a bigger impact on the team, Saliba, Odergaard, or Saka, earn less than Havertz, people question the German even more. As the highest-paid Arsenal player, did he deliver enough last season?
