Man United are targeting a fourth successive home win over Everton for the first time in 13 years, while the Toffees have won only one of their last 32 outings at the Theatre of Dreams, this a last-gasp 1-0 victory in 2013.
Manchester United vs Everton Preview
Can Rúben Amorim claim his first Premier League win as Manchester United manager? Last Sunday, following much fanfare, the Portuguese coach took charge for the first time, but it wasn't the start he would've dreamed of. Despite taking the lead inside 90 seconds through Marcus Rashford, the Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw by Ipswich at Portman Road, indebted to André Onana for the point they earned in Suffolk. So, having won only four of 12 Premier League games to date, Man United continue to languish in the bottom half of the table.
Then, on Thursday night, Amorim met the Old Trafford faithful for the very first time, overseeing his first victory too as Man United, just about, beat Bodø/Glimt 3-2 in the Europa League, Once again, they made a lightening quick start, Alejandro Garnacho on target in the first minute, only for the Norwegian champions to score two, quick-fire goals, thereby taking a shock lead, but a Rasmus Højlund brace, on target either side of half time, was enough to secure victory. So now, ahead of Wednesday's mouthwatering trip to Arsenal, can Man United start to build some much-needed momentum?
Well, if you're in need of a win, a visit from Everton might just be the recommended diagnosis. Despite being up against ten men for the entire second half last weekend, the Toffees were held to a very frustrating goalless draw by Brentford at Goodison, rarely looking like making the breakthrough. Sean Dyche's side are now winless in four, with pressure mounting on the manager ahead of the Friedkin group's proposed takeover, while this is a crucial week for the Blues, with fellow-strugglers Wolves visiting on Wednesday, before the small matter of a Merseyside derby at Goodison next Saturday. Everton have failed to score in each of their last three Premier League games, most-recently going four without a goal in March 2022, hence why, if the Toffees are going to pull-off a major shock at Old Trafford, they'll need to make this game extremely low-scoring.

Manchester United Team News
Rúben Amorim made six changes against Bodø/Glimt but, if we've learnt one thing so far, it's that the 3-4-3 shape is a non-negotiable. Tyrell Malacia lasted 45 minutes on Thursday, his first senior appearance for 550 days, while fit again Lisandro Martínez and Mason Mount also started. Kobbie Mainoo was an unused substitute, as he eased back to full fitness, but the treatment room is emptying, with Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelöf the only players still sidelined. Antony was deployed at right-wing-back in the Europa League, with Amad set to return in that position here, while Rasmus Højlund's mid-week double could see him chosen over Marcus Rashford in attack. The aforementioned Martínez and Mainoo are one yellow card away from missing Wednesday's trip to Arsenal.

Everton Team News
Ashley Young will continue at right-back, starting against the side for whom he made 261 appearances, with club captain Séamus Coleman injured and Nathan Patterson being eased back to fitness. Meantime, Jarrad Branthwaite will once again get the nod over Michael Keane, who's one caution away from a ban, alongside James Tarkowski in the middle. Jesper Lindstrøm was given a rare start out-wide against Brentford, but Jack Harrison is expected to return here. Tim Iroegbunam, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti remain sidelined.
Everton predicted lineup vs Manchester United: (4-5-1): Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gana Gueye, Doucouré, Harrison, McNeil, Ndiaye; Calvert-Lewin.
Everton Player to Watch vs Manchester United
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has just two goals to his name this season but has twice struck against Man United in the past, so can he fire the Toffees to success at Old Trafford?
Manchester United vs Everton Prediction
We're fully expecting Manchester United to easily win this one. Everton are lacking cutting-edge and any semblance of attacking threat, so we can't see the Blues scoring, while the Red Devils' attacking firepower should see them collect three much-needed points: Manchester United 2-0 Everton.
