Manchester City are unbeaten in 15 meetings with Everton, winning 13 of them, with the Toffees' most-recent victory at the Etihad coming almost exactly 14 years ago; can they change that fact?
Manchester City vs Everton Preview
Will Manchester City's unfathomably miserable form continue? On Saturday, the Sky Blues were beaten 2-1 by Aston Villa, Phil Foden's first goal of the season in stoppage time at Villa Park coming very much too little too late. The biggest shock? It wasn't remotely a shock! Of their last 11 matches across all competitions, Pep Guardiola's team have now, remarkably, lost eight of them, their sole victory since 26 October coming against Nottingham Forest.
This has seen the Citizens dumped out of the EFL Cup, they're in a perilous position in the Champions League while, in the Premier League, the four-in-a-row champions have sunk to seventh, spending Christmas Day below Forest and Bournemouth. Man City have not finished lower than fourth since 2010 and, with their next two games against Everton here and then Leicester on Sunday, if they're not able to get back to winning ways now, a catastrophic campaign could be on the cards.
As for Everton, despite the fact they almost never score, they'll travel 34 mile east believing an upset is possible. Sean Dyche's side were handed a nightmarish fixture list either side of Christmas but, so far, have battled to back-to-back goalless draws, first with Arsenal in North London, before also grinding out a stalemate when Chelsea visited Goodison on Sunday.
So, amazingly, since the start of November, have Toffees have failed to score in six of their seven fixtures, but have earned four scoreless draws while, during the only match in which they did find the net, the Blues demolished Wolves 4-0 on Merseyside. This is the first time since 1903 Everton have failed to score in four successive matches, before ending this sequence by scoring four. The Toffees are therefore 15th, four points clear of danger, seeking a major upset when they visit Manchester on Boxing Day.

Manchester City Team News
Rúben Dias, Rodri, Mathues Nunes and Oscar Bobb remain sidelined, while John Stones was taken off at half time on Saturday in, what was, his first appearance since 23 November. Nathan Aké meanwhile was an unused substitute at Villa Park, having missed the last four matches, so could the Dutchman return, easing Pep Guardiola's defensive injury concerns? Ederson didn't travel to Birmingham due to a knock, although Stefan Ortega Moreno has now started four of the last five Premier League fixtures, so could the German continue to don the gloves? Kevin De Bruyne is expected to return to the side alongside Phil Foden, who's finally scored for the first time this season, meaning teammate Savinho holds the unwanted record of having the most shots in the Premier League (20) without yet scoring. Bernardo Silva will sit out Sunday's visit to the King Power if cautioned.

Everton Team News
Ashley Young is suspended, having been shown his fifth caution of the campaign at the weekend, meaning either club captain Séamus Coleman or Nathan Patterson will deputise at right-back. Meanwhile, star winger Dwight McNeil has missed the last two matches due to a knee injury and isn't expected to return in time for this. Tim Iroegbunam and James Garner are still sidelined, but Armando Broja can return to the matchday squad, having been ineligible to face Chelsea.
Everton predicted lineup vs Manchester City: (4-3-3): Pickford; Coleman, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gana Gueye, Mangala, Doucouré, Harrison, Ndiaye; Calvert-Lewin.
Everton Player to Watch vs Manchester City
Jordan Pickford has conceded 37 times in his career against Man City, only shipping more goal against Spurs (40), but has kept seven Premier League clean sheets this season, the current front-runner for the Golden Glove; can he earn another?
Manchester City vs Everton Prediction
Despite their horrendous form, Man City will surely win this one, right? Everton never score, so the Toffees can't grind out another 0-0 draw, can they? We don't think so: Manchester City 2-0 Everton.
