Aston Villa player ratings vs Manchester City (4-2-3-1)

Emiliano Martinez - 5.5/10

Got a convincing hand to Silva's opener and really should have kept it out. Made another mistake just after his side's equaliser, passing straight to Marmoush but made amends when he smothered his attempt to shoot.

Matty Cash - 6.5/10

Allowed Marmoush to beat him in a one-on-one and drive into the box to set up City's opener. Taken off on the hour mark.

Ezri Konsa - 6/10

Got a touch on Marmoush's pass that fed it into the pass of Silva but would be harsh to call that a bad mistake. Failed to intercept Doku's low ball into the box for the winner but again, couldn't do much about it.

Pau Torres - 6/10

Not much he could do about City's goal and did what he had to do well from that point. Couldn't get across to stop Doku's cross to assist the winner.

Lucas Digne - 6.5/10

Cut out some dangerous City passes and also played some nice cross-field balls for his teammates. Threw himself toward the ball to try block Nunes' shot but couldn't get to it.

Boubacar Kamara - 6/10

Managed to hold off some threat in the midfield and was constantly seen on the edge of the box when his side attacked. Struggled against the likes of De Bruyne and Silva however.

Amadou Onana - 6.5/10

Did what was required of him in midfield, helping out in attack and defence. Subbed off with 15 minutes to play.

Morgan Rogers - 6/10

Picked up a booking in the second half when he hauled O'Reilly down to halt the youngster's impressive run. Didn't offer too much before being brought off in the final minutes.

Youri Tielemans - 7/10

Played a good forward pass to allow Rashford to take on Dias inside the first minute. Was a main source of trouble for Villa's occasional attacks from there on.

Jacob Ramsey - 7/10

Did really well to skip into the City box and draw a foul from Dias and win a penalty for his side. Withdrawn just after an hour.

Marcus Rashford - 8/10

Hit the post inside the opening minute after getting past Dias with some nice touches. Calmly scored a penalty to level it up for Villa. Was the main source of danger for the visitors throughout. Taken off with 15 remaining.
