Man United player ratings vs Real Sociedad - Europa League
Goalkeeper: Andre Onana (6/10)
He didn’t have much to do in this Real Sociedad vs Man United game and couldn’t save the penalty as he dived the wrong way.
Centre Back: Leny Yoro (6/10)
He struggled a bit in this game and did not look at his best. There are still improvements to be made in this game. But Yoro is young and will improve with time. He was subbed off at the 88th minute for Lindelof.
Centre Back: Matthijs de Ligt (7/10)
The Dutch international made some crucial interceptions and played well throughout the game. He looked solid defensively and this is what fans expect from De Ligt.
Centre Back: Noussair Mazraoui (7/10)
The Moroccan international played as a centre back and not as a full back in this game. Still, he had a good game and looked good defensively. However, he failed to provide much going further up the pitch.
Left Full Back: Patrick Dorgu (6/10)
The new Manchester United signing did decently in this game. He was going forward from time to time. But, some basic mistakes prevented him from creating big chances for the Red Devils.
Centre Midfielder: Casemiro (7/10)
The Brazilian international started the attack that produced the goal for Manchester United. Casemiro looked solid in defensive work. He also played some key passes that created a few chances that Manchester United forwards failed to capitalize.
Centre Midfielder: Bruno Fernandes (7/10)
Until the controversial penalty that he gave away, Bruno Fernandes was having a good game. He looked like a threat in the final third. But, he was poor with his defensive work.
Right Full Back: Diogo Dalot (6/10)
Apart from the involvement in the goal, Diogo Dalot didn’t do much in this game. It was one of his forgettable performances in a Manchester United shirt. But, he had worse performances this season than this one.
Right Winger: Alejandro Garnacho (7/10)
The Argentine international had some good chances which he should have converted. But, having said that, the assist for Manchester United’s solitary strike will go to his name.
Centre Forward: Rasmus Hojlund (5/10)
The Danish striker looked like a passenger throughout the game. Some of the blame should go to him. But, one cannot deny that United forwards failed to pick him out.
Left Winger: Joshua Zirkzee (8/10)
In his first season in a Man Utd shirt, Joshua Zirkzee has been criticised a lot. But, in this game, he was superb. He scored the only goal for the Red Devils and looked like a threat upfront.
SUB: Christian Eriksen (5/10) - Garnacho 78’
Eriksen came on for Garnacho but failed to create any impact. He lacked pace and it seems he doesn’t suit the style of football Amorim wants.
SUB: Tobby Collyer (NA/10) Zirkzee 88’
Came on late in the game and didn’t have enough time to create an impact.
SUB: Victor Lindelof (NA/10) Yoro 88’
The same goes for Victor Lindelof and he should have come on a lot earlier in the game.
Manager: Ruben Amorim (6/10)
Looks like Ruben Amorim’s team is playing much better in Europe. However, he will be disappointed with the outcome as his team deserved the victory. But, there is so much room for improvement that he needs to address quickly if he wants to see his team play in the next round of the Europa League.
