2. Mohamed Salah involved but not at his best
Mohamed Salah had a difficult night in the reverse fixture in Paris, but he was more involved at Anfield. Every time the Egyptian had possession, there was a sense that something could happen. However, he still fell short of his usual high standards.
In the first half, Salah had his best chance, but PSG’s left-back Nuno Mendes reacted quickly to block his shot. The Portuguese defender won most of the one-on-one battles against Liverpool’s top scorer on the night. Although Salah did manage to create opportunities for his teammates when he found space, none of them resulted in goals.
Salah was the first to take a penalty for Liverpool and converted it confidently, leveling the shootout at 1-1. Unfortunately for him, his teammates failed to capitalize, making it a disappointing night. If this turns out to be his final European match for Liverpool, it was a tough way to bow out.
