Liverpool missed a chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League. The team settled for a 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Sunday.

Liverpool 2-2 Man United - As it happened at Anfield

Both teams started with energy. Cody Gakpo and Alexis Mac Allister had early chances for Liverpool. Amad Diallo also missed a good opportunity for United.

The first half was evenly contested. Ryan Gravenberch and Rasmus Hojlund tested the goalkeepers before Lisandro Martinez scored in the 52nd minute. Martinez gave United their first league goal at Anfield since 2018. Seven minutes later, Cody Gakpo equalised for Liverpool with a brilliant finish.

Liverpool took the lead after Matthijs de Ligt handled the ball in the penalty area. Mohamed Salah converted the penalty confidently. However, Amad Diallo scored late in the second half to make the scoreline Liverpool 2-2 Man Utd and get a point for Manchester United.

Harry Maguire missed a chance to win the game in the final moments. Liverpool remained six points ahead of Arsenal but missed the chance to create a bigger gap.

Had limited success against Diogo Dalot but became more dangerous late in the game. Took his penalty well.

Missed a good chance early on and was quiet for most of the match.

Scored a well-taken goal after sitting down Matthijs de Ligt. He battled hard against the United defence.

Had little impact at first but looked lively in the final minutes.
