Nottingham Forest's last visit the King Power saw them humiliatingly hammered 4-0, but a fair amount has changed in the two years since.

Leicester City vs Nottingham Forest Preview

Will Nottingham Forest's excellent start to the season continue, knowing victory here would see them climb up to fifth, even if only temporarily? On Monday night, Chris Wood's long-range strike mid-way through the second half was enough to see the Garibaldi Reds beat Crystal Palace 1-0 in a generally entertaining affair at the City Ground.

This was actually a first home win of the season for Nuno Espírito Santo's side but, given that they've lost only once, Forest kick off eighth, knowing a victory here would see them leapfrog Spurs, Chelsea and Brighton ahead of the weekend. The Reds have not remained unbeaten five away matches into a top division season since 1995, but will feel confident of collecting, at least, a point when they travel 25 miles south down the M1 for this Friday night extravaganza.

Leicester City's outlook on life back in the Premier League is also a positive one, following consecutive wins. First, Facundo Buonanotte's stunning strike saw the Foxes down Bournemouth at home. Then, last weekend, despite being 2-0 down with over an hour played, Steve Cooper's side pulled off a remarkable comeback, defeating Southampton 3-2 by the South Coast.

Buonanotte started the turnaround from close-range before Jamie Vardy emphatically converted a penalty, with Jordan Ayew pinching the points in the 98th minute no less, his scuffed shot sparking wild scenes of celebration. These wins have propelled Leicester up to 14th, six points clear of the drop zone, now targeting both this, as well as next weekend's trip to Ipswich, as two more realistic opportunities to put points on the board. Leicester have won six of their last ten home games against Forest, so will it be a Friday night to remember for King Power crowd?

Leicester City vs Nottingham Forest Head-to-Head Record

Leicester City Team News

Steve Cooper has some tough decisions to make, considering the impact his substitutes made off the bench at St Mary's, namely Abdul Fatawu in particular. The only change he made ahead of that trip to Southampton was bringing Bilal El Khannouss in for Jordan Ayew, who proved to be the match-winner himself, so does the Ghanian return? One certainty is that Jamie Vardy will be leading the line; his one and only career goal against Forest came over a decade ago.

Leicester City predicted lineup vs Nottingham Forest: (4-2-3-1): Hermansen; Justin, Okoli, Faes, Kristiansen; Ndidi, Skipp, Buonanotte, Fatawu, Mavididi; Vardy.

Leicester City Player to Watch vs Nottingham Forest

Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte has been the Foxes star man this season, on target in back-to-back games, taking his tally to three overall, looking to keep the sequence going.

Nottingham Forest Team News

Manager Nuno Espírito Santo is serving the second of his three-match touchline ban while, on the pitch, James Ward-Prowse can return, having sat out Monday's win due to a one-game suspension of his own. Morgan Gibbs-White remains sidelined due to an ankle injury, so Elliot Anderson is likely to continue in a more advanced midfield role. Of the 16 players who featured in Forest's 4-0 hammering the last time they visited Leicester two years ago, only Neco Williams, Taiwo Awoniyi and Ryan Yates are in contention to feature here.

Nottingham Forest predicted lineup vs Leicester City: (4-3-3): Sels; Aina, Milenković, Murillo, Moreno; Yates, Ward-Prowse, Anderson; Hudson-Odoi, Elanga, Wood.

Nottingham Forest Player to Watch vs Leicester City

Chris Wood has scored seven of Nottingham Forest's last ten Premier League goals. The New Zealander has bagged six career goals against Leicester, one of his many former employers, only on target against four clubs more frequently: Brighton, Huddersfield, Wolves and West Ham.

Leicester City vs Nottingham Forest Prediction

This clash is tough to call, so we're sitting on the fence. Victory for Leicester would be the first time they've won three successive Premier League games since January 2021. However, Forest are not easy to score against, conceding only six times eight games into a top-flight campaign for the first time since 1980, when they were reigning, back-to-back European champions. Thus, a low-scoring draw appears the most-likely outcome: Leicester City 1-1 Nottingham Forest.
