Fulham vs Brentford - Premier League: TV channel, prediction, team news and lineups
By Ben Gray
Brentford have won six of their last 12 visits to Craven Cottage, losing only once on the banks of the River Thames since 1990, including a memorable 3-0 victory there last season, so will the Bees or the Whites claim Monday night West London bragging rights?
Fulham vs Brentford Preview
These two clubs are located little over four miles apart while, after both have made impressive starts to the campaign, they're also next-door neighbours in the Premier League table. Of the pair, Brentford kick off one point better off, following their dramatic and thoroughly entertaining 4-3 victory over Ipswich last weekend.
The Bees found themselves 2-0 down inside half an hour, only to turn it around thanks to a trio of quick-fire goals, before the ten-man Tractor Boys equalised, seemingly snatching a share of the spoils. Nevertheless, in the dying embers of stoppage time, Bryan Mbeumo's cross evaded everybody, finding its way into the bottom corner, sparking wild scenes of celebration.
This means Thomas Frank's team have collected 13 points out of a possible 15 at home, now looking to get off the mark on the road, having lost all four away fixtures thus far, albeit these have come at Anfield, the Etihad, White Hart Lane and Old Trafford. To further build momentum, on Tuesday night, the Bees reached the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, overcoming Sheffield Wednesday on penalties.
Kevin Schade broke the deadlock in comical fashion, only for the Owls to score a stunning equaliser, hence why a shootout was required. The home side converted all five of their spot-kicks meaning, having failed to keep out the first four, a save by Mark Flekken saw them advance to the last eight for the third time in five seasons. Now, can Brentford claim victory over their West London rivals?
Fulham meantime have three wins, three draws and three defeats to their name thus far, the sort of satisfying equilibrium that suggest they're set for another safe, mid-table season. Last Saturday, the Whites came agonisingly close to beating Everton, with Alex Iwobi firing home the opener against his former employers, only for the Toffees to pinch a point right at the death.
Marco Silva's team are now without a win in three, albeit they'd faced Man City and Aston Villa in their other October fixtures, so there's no need to panic, given that the Cottagers showed enough during wins over Leicester, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest to prove they'll be competitive throughout this campaign. Amazingly, Fulham have won just two of their last 21 home games against Brentford, but can the Whites make home advantage count at Craven Cottage this time?

Fulham Team News
Timothy Castagne and Saša Lukić are both injured, but centre-back Joachim Andersen can return, having served his one-match suspension at Goodison. The Dane will displace Issa Diop in defence but, that aside, Marco Silva is expected to name an unchanged team. Of the starting 11, plus the nine substitutes, from Fulham's most-famous win over Brentford, coming in the behind-closed-doors EFL Championship play-off final of 2020, only Harrison Reed and Tom Cairney are still at the club.
Fulham predicted lineup vs Brentford: (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Pereira, Traoré, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jiménez.
Fulham Player to Watch vs Brentford
Raúl Jiménez already has five goals to his name this season, also scoring a first-ever career free-kick for Mexico against USA last month. In his Premier League career, Jiménez has scored against 19 different clubs but never Brentford; now would be a good time to change that.
Brentford Team News
Thomas Frank picked a strong side for the Carabao Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday which, considering that was six nights ago, is understandable. There were rare starts for teenager Jayden Meghoma and veteran Ben Mee in defence, in the continued, long-term absence of Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey. In better news, Kristoffer Ajer. should be available, having sat out the last two fixtures due to a "minor foot injury". Meantime, Mathias Jensen made his first appearance since 31 August following a calf injury last weekend, before starting on Tuesday, likely to do so again here too.
Brentford predicted lineup vs Fulham: (4-3-3): Flekken; van den Berg, Collins, Pinnock, Ajer; Nørgaard, Janelt, Jensen; Mbuemo, Lewis-Potter, Wissa.
Brentford Players to Watch vs Fulham
Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo both bagged braces last weekend, taking their respective tallites to five and eight for the campaign already. The pair were both were on target during the 3-0 victory at Craven Cottage 15 months ago, so will the strike-duo prove to be the scourge of Fulham again?
Fulham vs Brentford Prediction
Those tuning in on Monday evening should expect to see an entertaining affair and one that is too close to call, so we're sitting on the fence and forecasting a high-scoring draw: Fulham 2-2 Brentford.
