Fulham vs Aston Villa - Premier League: TV channel, prediction, team news and lineups
By Ben Gray
Both Fulham and Aston Villa are flying-high in the Premier League table right now, so who's impressive start to the season will continue?
Fulham vs Aston Villa Preview
Aston Villa have won each of their last three meetings with Fulham, targeting a fourth successive victory for the first time in the 119-year history of this fixture, although that will not be easy. Unai Emery's team travel to West London following back-to-back Premier League draws, most-recently held to a goalless stalemate by Manchester United in, potentially, the most boring of all 12,476 fixtures played since the Premier League began in 1992. This clash very much had an 'after the Lord Mayor's show' vibe about it, considering the Villans had beaten Bayern Munich four days earlier, continuing their perfect start in the Champions League. Before Bologna become Birmingham's next continental visitors on Tuesday, will the Claret and Blue Army have three points to celebrate on the banks of the River Thames?
Fulham meanwhile would leapfrog their visitors with victory, currently eighth, which would reprsent their best top-flight finish for 14 seasons. Both defeats suffered by the Cottagers so far have come in Manchester, beaten 1-0 at Old Trafford on opening night, before a spirited 3-2 loss at the Etihad a fortnight ago, in which Raúl Jiménez produced the assist of the season so far, teeing-up Andreas Pereira to break the deadlock. At home meantime, Marco Silva's side have yielded seven points out of a possible nine, so can the Whites claim another notable scalp at Craven Cottage?

Fulham Team News
Emile Smith Rowe was left on the bench for the first time since joining Fulham at Manchester City, with the more defensive Sander Berge coming in, although Smith Rowe will almost certainly return here. That aside, Marco Silva is expected to name an unchanged XI, featuring Antonee Robinson who's had a busy international break, starting both of USA's friendlies, in action as recently as the early hours of Wednesday morning in Zapopan, with Raúl Jiménez featuring for the opposition, his first appearance in Mexican colours for almost a year. In contrast, goalkeeper Bernd Leno has been heavily criticised in Germany for rejecting a call-up, focussing on his club form. Lastly, Saša Lukić will sit out next Saturday's trip to Goodison if cautioned.
Fulham predicted lineup vs Aston Villa: (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Lukić, Pereira, Traoré, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jiménez.
Fulham Player to Watch vs Aston Villa
Adama Traoré squandered three one-on-ones against Man City, a leopard can't change its spots I guess, so can the Spaniard score against Villa, one of his former clubs of course? This'll be the 14th time he's faced them, yet to find the net in any of these outings.
Aston Villa Team News
Midfielders Amadou Onana, John McGinn, Jacob Ramsey and Boubacar Kamara all missed the Manchester United game injury, meaning Unai Emery is left with limited options. To make matters worse, Jaden Philogene is a doubt, after sustaining an injury representing England's U21s. If none of the quintet are back, Ross Barkley will continue as Youri Tielemans' partner while, at the back, after Ezri Konsa hobbled off a fortnight ago, Diego Carlos will come into defence. Elsewhere, in better news, Matty Cash is fit again, with his appearance against Man United the Poland international's first since 24 August following a hamstring injury.
Aston Villa predicted lineup vs Fulham: (4-2-2-2): Martínez; Cash, Diego Carlos, Torres, Digne; Barkley, Tielemans, Bailey, Rogers; Durán, Watkins.
Aston Villa Player to Watch vs Fulham
Having netted home and away against Fulham last season, another goal here would make Ollie Watkins the first player since Johnny Dixon in 1952 to score in three successive meetings between these two clubs.
Fulham vs Aston Villa Prediction
Aston Villa have not drawn three consecutive Premier League games since November 2014, suggesting we're likely to get a winner in West London, although we're forecasting a score draw. With home advantage, and given that their visitors are depleted, we're backing Fulham to earn a share of the spoils: Fulham 1-1 Aston Villa.
