Antony joined Manchester United with high hopes. The Red Devils paid a whopping £86m to sign the Brazilian from Ajax. His career at United started brightly as he scored in his initial few games. But, those memories are hard to recall for a Man Utd fan now.

The Brazilian was getting trolled all over the internet. There was no doubt about his potential. But, his performances on the field were not living up to the expectations of Manchester United fans. Also, the high price that United paid to sign the player did not help his cause.

However, even after such a troublesome time at M16, Antony produced some important goals for Manchester United. The FA Cup leveller against Liverpool or the winner against Barcelona in the Europa League are some of the best moments that Antony had in a United shirt.

But, with time, his time at Old Trafford was coming to an end. He was not getting enough game time. And, whenever he started or came on, he gave 100% for the club. But, it was time to leave the club. But, very few clubs wanted to sign him permanently. Also, he was sort of reluctant to leave permanently.

So, the loan was the only option left for him. Real Betis, the La Liga club came calling. It was the lifeline that Antony had to take. And, his performances in La Liga are now showing United fans what they are missing. Surely, he has revived his career. Now, he wants to keep going in La Liga beyond this season.

Man United transfer news - Antony wants to stay at Real Betis

According to the latest reports, Antony wants to stay at Real Betis beyond this season. His loan spell will end at the end of this season. However, the Brazillian is willing to keep going in La Liga with Betis. The Real Betis executive Ramon Alarcon is claiming this. He said (via Goal);

"The other day Antony told me that he wanted to stay another year. The player is very comfortable here and was surprised by the facilities we gave him to settle in the city as soon as he arrived."
