Manchester City creates record with semi-final qualification

By reaching the semi-finals, Pep Guardiola's side made history by reaching this stage for the seventh consecutive time in the FA Cup, improving their own record. They defeated Bournemouth 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium. Despite conceding the lead to an Evanilson goal, second-half strikes from Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush were enough for City to book their place in the semis.

Despite starting well after Kepa Arrizabalaga saved a Haaland penalty before taking the lead, Bournemouth could not sustain their intensity. When the two sides faced each other earlier this season at the same venue, the Cherries were the winners. However, Andoni Iraola's side failed to replicate that performance.

Once again, it was Nico O'Reilly who stood out in the quarter-finals after starring for them in the fifth round. The 20-year-old assisted both goals, continuing his impressive performances in the competition. The win keeps City's only silverware hope alive this season. However, Haaland's injury in the second half could be a major setback if he faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, especially with City still battling for a top-four finish in the league.
