No FA Cup magic at Deepdale

Preston North End was the last remaining non-Premier League club in the FA Cup ahead of the quarter-finals. Despite the challenge, their strong home record might have given them hope. A few would have expected the magic of the FA Cup to favor them as well.

However, it was the Premier League side that got the expected result. A double from Marcus Rashford and a Jacob Ramsey goal ensured Aston Villa booked their spot in the semi-finals. It was Rashford's first goals for the club since joining on loan from Manchester United in January.

Unai Emery's side also has a Champions League quarter-final tie against Paris Saint-Germain. Aston Villa's last major trophy was the 1996 EFL Cup, where they defeated Leeds United. At the moment, they remain in contention for silverware in two different competitions.
