Southampton have actually won three in a row against Everton, including an EFL Cup victory at Goodison earlier this season, seeking four successive victories in this fixture for the first time ever.

To date, Everton have played 2,790 matches at Goodison, their home since 1892, now set to wave goodbye to the famous old stadium, but will they do so with a win?

Last weekend, the Toffees got back to winning ways, coming from a goal down to beat Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage, with Vitaliy Mykolenko, Michael Keane and then Beto the scorers. Before this, David Moyes' men had won just one of ten matches, despite claiming four victories from five immediately beforehand.

Now though, the only thing all Evertonians care about is claiming a victory in their final match at Goodison. Since beating Leicester on 1 February, the Blues have actually failed to win any of their six home matches, albeit that run does feature a rather memorable Merseyside derby draw. So, will Goodison get the perfect send-off, or will Southampton play the role of party poopers?

Well, given their league position, you might think the Saints are the perfect guests, but they did win the reverse fixture 1-0 in November, having dumped the Toffees out of the League Cup on penalties at Goodison in September.

Then, last weekend, Simon Rusk's side held Manchester City to a goalless draw at St Mary's, thereby taking their points tally to 12, surpassing Derby County's effort of 2007/08, thereby avoided unwanted history. The Saints have won only one of their last 25 Premier League away games, this coming at Ipswich in February, so surely Southampton can't spoil the Everton party, can they?

Everton Team News

James Tarkowski, Orel Mangala and Jesper Lindstrøm remain sidelined, while Jake O'Brien is also a doubt due to a knee injury, so Michael Keane could keep his place at the heart of defence.

Elsewhere, Nathan Patterson could return in place of Ashley Young at right-back, while either Iliman Ndiaye or Dwight McNeil are set to starrt out-wide.

Lastly, David Moyes has a decision to make in attack; will he stick with Beto, or could Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is poised to depart for free this summer, get a sentimental first start since January due to a hamstring injury?

Everton predicted lineup vs Southampton: (4-5-1): Pickford; Patterson, Keane, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gana Gueye, Garner, Doucouré, McNeil, Ndiaye; Beto.
