Manchester United have won each of their last six meetings with Everton, most recently enjoying a longer streak in 2004. The Red Devils are aiming to win three successive outings at Goodison for the first time in 18 years.

Everton vs Manchester United Preview

Few could've forecast that before kick-off on Merseyside, Everton would be above Manchester United. This is a remarkable turnaround underling the form these two teams are in.

Last weekend, the Toffees' upturn continued, beating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst, with Beto and then new signing Carlos Alcaraz scoring in South London.

This latest win means David Moyes' men have now collected 13 points from their last five outings, also beating Tottenham, Brighton and Leicester, before a famous draw in the last-ever Merseyside derby at Goodison. James Tarkowski lashed home a 96th-minute equaliser, sparking wild celebrations.

When Moyes returned in mid-January, Evertonians were fearing the drop. Now, the Blues are 13 points clear of danger, with supporters optimistic of witnessing another victory here.

That's partially due to Manchester United being in horrendous form. While Everton have collected 13 points from their last five outings, the Red Devils' last 12 fixtures have yielded a miserly ten points.

Last Sunday, Rúben Amorim's team were beaten again, this time defeated by fellow-strugglers Tottenham 1-0 in North London, their sixth defeat in nine.

When Erik ten Hag was sacked in late October, Man United were 14th. Now, they're a place lower, on course for the club's worst season since being relegated in 1971. They still have the Europa League to play for, but, the way they're currently playing, Man United cannot be favourites to win that. They're possibly not even favourites for victory at Goodison come Saturday lunchtime.

Everton Team News

Everton's unbeaten run is made all the more impressive by the fact they are decimated. Captain Séamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson, Orel Mangala, top-scorer Iliman Ndiaye, Dwight McNeil, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja, and Youssef Chermiti are all injured.

In better news, Abdoulaye Doucouré can return, having served his one-match ban at Crystal Palace but, due to limited options, this is likely to be the only change David Moyes makes to his lineup.

Everton predicted lineup vs Manchester United: (4-5-1): Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gana Gueye, Garner, Doucouré , Lindstrøm, Harrison; Beto.

Everton Player to Watch vs Manchester United

Beto, out of nowhere, has become one of the league's most in-form strikers, scoring four goals in his last three Premier League outings, so will his scoring spree continue?

Manchester United Team News

Rúben Amorim too has an injury crisis to contend with. Just one of his substitutes at Spurs, namely Victor Lindelöf, had ever played in the Premier League before.

That's because the Red Devils are without Altay Bayındır, Lisandro Martínez, Jonny Evans, Luke Shaw, Toby Collyer, Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount and now Amad, the latter ruled out for the rest of the season, a huge blow.

Neither Leny Yoro nor Christian Eriksen featured in North London due to illness, both could be back involved here, while Manuel Ugarte is set to return to midfield following a knock.

Manchester United predicted lineup vs Everton: (3-4-2-1): Onana; Maguire, de Ligt, Mazraoui; Dalot, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dorgu; Zirkzee, Garnacho, Højlund.

Manchester United Player to Watch vs Everton

Captain Bruno Fernandes has nine goals to his name this season, while has has previously netted five times in his career against Everton, three of which have come at Goodison.

Everton vs Manchester United Prediction

We are backing Everton to claim victory in Saturday's early kick off. The Toffees are in excellent form, while Man United appear bereft of confidence, belief and ideas, so we do not believe it to be a bold prediction that David Moyes' men will defeat his former club: Everton 2-1 Manchester United.
