Arsenal have won only one of their last six visits to Goodison Park but, as they take to the field there for the 111th and final time, the Gunners are targeting back-to-back victories on this ground for the first time since 2012.

Everton vs Arsenal Preview

Had the title race been tighter, Evertonians would have been faced with quite the moral quandary come Saturday lunchtime. In reality, both sets of supporters are resigned to the fact the Premier League trophy will call the other half of Merseyside home come May, or perhaps sooner.

Arsenal's title aspirations are all but mathematically over, but they did claim a confidence-booting victory on Tuesday night, beating Fulham 2-1 at home. Mikel Merino broke the deadlock before, after 101 days on the sidelines due to injury, Bukayo Saka nodded home the winner, the perfect way to mark his return. The primary focus of Gooners everywhere is on Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid, but Mikel Arteta's team still need to collect Premier League points, as they seek to cement second place.

Everton meantime were Liverpool's latest victims on Wednesday night, beaten 1-0 in the Merseyside derby just across Stanley Park at Anfield. This brought to an end the Toffees' nine match unbeaten streak in the Premier League, defeated for the first time since David Moyes' first match in charge all the way back on 15 January. After this, the Blues have just three more fixtures at Goodison, so are determined to savour every moment, seeking a memorable victory come Saturday lunchtime.

Everton vs Arsenal Head-to-Head Record

Everton Team News

Jesper Lindstrøm missed the mid-week derby with a groin strain, joining Orel Mangala, Dwight McNeil and Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the sidelines. On the flip side, Iliman Ndiaye came off the bench at Anfield, his first appearance since the February Merseyside derby, a major boost for David Moyes.

Despite the tight turnaround, David Moyes could name an unchanged lineup, featuring James Tarkowski, who was extremely lucky not to be sent off inside the first 15 minutes on Wednesday.

Everton predicted lineup vs Arsenal: (4-5-1): Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gana Gueye, Garner, Doucouré, Alcaraz, Harrison; Beto.

Everton Players to Watch vs Arsenal

Beto very nearly broke the deadlock in front of the Kop on Wednesday, thwacking the post, now four games without a goal, having scored five times across the previous four fixtures, so can he rediscover his midas touch?

Arsenal Team News

On an otherwise successful night, Arsenal suffered a huge blow on Tuesday as star centre-back Gabriel suffered a season-ending hamstring injury; he'll be a huge miss against Real Madrid. He joins fellow-defenders Riccardo Calafiori and Takehiro Tomiyasu on the sidelines, while Benjamin White is also a doubt, having missed the win over Fulham due to a slight knee issue.

Jurriën Timber was also forced off late on in mid-week, so is unlikely to be risked at Goodison, meaning it's likely to be Thomas Partey at right-back, with Jakub Kiwior in the middle, starting in the Premier League for the first time since 8 December. If Partey does fill-in at right-back, Jorginho is set to come into midfield, with Mikel Merino continuing as the makeshift centre-forward.

Lastly, in better news, Bukayo Saka is back with a bang, scoring and getting 25 minutes into his legs on Tuesday, set for more action here, ramping up the preparation with Real Madrid firmly in mind.

Arsenal predicted lineup vs Everton: (4-3-3): Raya; Partey, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Jorginho, Rice, Ødegaard; Nwaneri, Martinelli, Merino.

Arsenal Player to Watch vs Everton

Gabriel Martinelli put in, arguably, his sharpest performance for some time in mid-week, so can the Brazilian add to his seven goals so far this season, having netted against Everton thrice to date?

Everton vs Arsenal Prediction

Everyone tuning into this early kick off is unlikely to be treated to a high-scoring thriller, but we are backing Arsenal to battle to a victory at Goodison: Everton 0-1 Arsenal.
