Crystal Palace are currently unbeaten in three meetings with Aston Villa, most-recently enjoying a longer streak in the late-90s, winning both of their last two clashes at Selhurst, including a 5-0 hammering on the final day of last season.

Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa Preview

After both were victorious on Saturday, who will continue their impressive campaign in South London on Tuesday? Aston Villa have massively enhanced their European aspirations in the last week, first holding Liverpool to a thrilling 2-2 draw last Wednesday, in which Youri Tielemans and then Ollie Watkins were on target as they held the league-leaders and champions-elect.

Then, on Saturday evening, Unai Emery's team fought back from a goal down to beat Chelsea 2-1 at Villa Park, with Marco Asensio the scorer of both, the second of which came in the final minute of the 90, sparking wild celebrations. This ended the Villans' four-match winless streak in the Premier League, but propelled them up to seventh, just a point adrift the final Champions League spot.

The games continue to come thick-and-fast for Villa, who will face Cardiff City in the FA Cup on Friday night, before meeting Club Brugge in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie at Jan Breydelstadion next Tuesday. With huge games to come, will the Claret and Blue Army collect three important points in South London?

That certainly won't be easy, considering Crystal Palace continued their own excellent form at the weekend, beating Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage. Daniel Muñoz secured the win, after Joachim Andersen had scored an own goal against his very-recent employers.

This made it four successive away victories for Oliver Glasner's side, who've not been quite as strong at Selhurst, losing their last two at home, while all four of the Eagles' defeats since 21 October, a period of 18 matches, have come in front of their own supporters.

Already this season, Palace have left Villa Park victorious in the Carabao Cup, before the pair played out a 2-2 draw in Birmingham back in November, but who will win this time?

Crystal Palace Team News

Oliver Glasner is without Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucouré, and his lineup remains largely settled. Both Adam Wharton and Eberechi Eze suffered injuries in the EFL Cup at Villa Park in October, that have rather hampered their seasons. After coming off the bench at the weekend, Wharton will be hoping to start this time, while Eze will continue as part of the front three.

Midfielder aside, an unchanged XI is forecast, with Tyrick Mitchell once again keeping new recruit Ben Chilwell in reserve. Will Hughes is one yellow card away from a two-match suspension.

Crystal Palace predicted lineup vs Aston Villa: (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Richards, Guéhi, Lacroix; Muñoz, Lerma, Wharton, Mitchell; Sarr, Eze, Mateta.

Crystal Palace Player to Watch vs Aston Villa

Jean-Philippe Mateta has 14 goals to his name this season, while he scored a hat-trick when Villa most-recently visited Selhurst on the final day of last season.

Aston Villa Team News

Axel Disasi can return, having been ineligible to face Chelsea, which is a boost to defensive options, considering Pau Torres is injured, and Tyrone Mings hobbled off at the weekend Saturday. So, Disasi is set to come straight back in, with Lucas Digne displacing Ian Maatsen at left-back, after the Dutchman was handed a rare start against his former club.

Elsewhere, with Amadou Onana, Ross Barkley and Boubacar Kamara all injured, Youri Tielemans and John McGinn will once again be the midfield duo; Marcus Rashford's impressive second half cameo on Saturday could see him start in attack this time.

Aston Villa predicted lineup vs Crystal Palace: (4-2-3-1): Martínez; Cash, Konsa, Disasi, Digne; Tielemans, McGinn, Rogers, Asensio, Rashford; Watkins.

Aston Villa Player to Watch vs Crystal Palace

Ollie Watkins has 13 goals to his name this season, while he's bagged three in his last six appearances against Palace, one of which came in the reverse fixture.

Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa Prediction

This match is so tough to call, so we're sitting on the fence and forecasting a score draw as two relatively in-form teams meet at Selhurst on Tuesday: Crystal Palace 1-1 Aston Villa.
