Chelsea are unbeaten in six meetings against Bournemouth, winning four of them, with the Blues seeking a third successive home victory in this fixture for the first time ever, albeit the Cherries have won three of their previous seven Premier League visits to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth Preview

Can Chelsea end their winless streak in the Premier League? As recently as the week before Christmas, many were tipping the Blues as bona fide title contenders, following five successive victories. However, since then, Enzo Maresca's side have failed to win any of their four league games, suffering shock defeats at the hands of both Fulham and Ipswich, before an underwhelming 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace last time out, despite taking the lead through Cole Palmer at Selhurst.

This has seen the Blues slip down to fourth, ten points adrift league-leaders Liverpool, albeit still very much on course for Champions League qualification. At the weekend, Chelsea smashed Morecambe, second-bottom of EFL League two, 5-0 in the FA Cup; Christopher Nkunku on target, having missed a penalty earlier on, while Tosin Adarabioyo and João Félix both bagged braces. So now, will the Blues collect three points here?

That though will not be easy, considering that Bournemouth kick off a mere three points below their significantly more illustrious hosts. The Cherries beat Everton at Dean Court last time out, David Brooks' half-volley late on the only goal of the afternoon, meaning they're now unbeaten in eight Premier League matches, the longest sequence in the club's entire top-flight history.

Andoni Iraola's side, who've not tasted defeat since November, have won five of those eight outings, meaning they currently occupy a European position, with those in Dorset dreaming of seeing their side compete in UEFA competition for the first time ever. On Saturday, like their hosts, Bournemouth also cruised through to the FA Cup fourth round, swatting aside West Bromwich Albion 5-1 at home, with Dango Ouattara scoring twice, while Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo and Daniel Jebbison also got on the scoresheet. Now, can the Cherries cause a major upset in West London?

Chelsea Team News

Enzo Maresca made wholesale changes at the weekend, as is his wont for cup competitions, meaning this lineup is likely to resemble the one deployed at Selhurst. Wesley Fofana, Benoît Badiashile and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall remain sidelined, but both Reece James and Roméo Lavia did play 45 minutes on Saturday, meaning both are in contention. Josh Acheampong was the surprise starter against Crystal Palace, getting the nod at centre-back, but Tosin Adarabioyo is likely to partner Levi Colwill this time, having scored his first-ever career brace against Morecambe. Lastly, out-wide, Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho appear to have usurped Noni Madueke in the pecking order, so will that continue?

Chelsea predicted lineup vs Bournemouth: (4-2-3-1): Sánchez; Gusto, Adarabioyo, Colwill, Cucurella; Fernández, Caicedo, Neto, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson.

Chelsea Player to Watch vs Bournemouth

Cole Palmer has 13 Premier League goals to his name this season, although he's never netted in three attempts against Bournemouth, so can he change that fact on Tuesday?

Bournemouth Team News

The visitors are without Julián Araujo, Marcos Senesi, Adam Smith, Alex Scott, Marcus Tavernier and Luis Sinisterra, while they're now enduring a centre-forward crisis, after both Evanilson and Enes Ünal suffered long-term injuries during training last week. As a result of this, Daniel Jebbison was recalled from his loan spell at Watford, scoring his very first goal for the club off the bench against West Brom, so will he lead the line? In goal, usual first-choice Kepa Arrizabalaga is ineligible to face his parent club, meaning Mark Travers, who has been impressive when required, will be donning the gloves. Full-back Julio Soler debuted at the weekend, while Matai Akinmboni was an unused substitute, hoping for his own debut, having arrived from D.C. United; Max Aarons is unlikely to be involved, given that he's close to moving to Valencia on loan.

Bournemouth predicted lineup vs Chelsea: (4-3-3): Travers; Hill, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Cook, Christie, Kluivert, Semenyo, Ouattara; Jebbison.

Bournemouth Player to Watch vs Chelsea

Dango Ouattara's brace at the weekend took his tally to five goals for the season, so can he help lead the Cherries to a famous victory?

Chelsea vs Bournemouth Prediction

We are backing Chelsea for victory. Despite scoring five at the weekend, we're expecting Bournemouth to find goals hard to come by without their two centre-forward, while the Blues' well-rested quality should see them get back to winning ways: Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth.
