Arsenal stars shine on the international stage: 14 players called up for March duty

Arsenal have 14 players called up for international duty this March, featuring in both UEFA Nations League quarter-finals and World Cup qualifiers. Several of these players are expected to play significant roles for their respective national teams.

Myles Lewis-Skelly and Declan Rice have earned places in Thomas Tuchel's first England squad. For Lewis-Skelly, it's a maiden call-up to the senior team. The Three Lions face Albania at Wembley Stadium on Friday, followed by a clash with Latvia at the same venue on Monday.

Jurrien Timber is part of the Netherlands squad for their UEFA Nations League A quarter-final against European champions Spain, who have called up Mikel Merino and David Raya. The first leg is at Stadion Feijenoord, Netherlands, on Thursday, with the return leg at Estadio de Mestalla, Spain, on Sunday. The winner will face either France or Croatia in the semi-finals in June.

William Saliba has been included in France’s squad for their Nations League A quarter-final against Croatia. The first leg takes place at Stadion Poljud, Croatia, on Thursday, with the return leg at Stade de France on Sunday.

Riccardo Calafiori will represent Italy in their quarter-final clash against Germany. The first leg is set for Thursday at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, with the second leg at Signal Iduna Park, Germany, on Sunday. The winner will advance to face Denmark or Portugal in the June semi-finals.

In the Nations League Group A play-offs, Arsenal teammates Oleksandr Zinchenko and Leandro Trossard will face off. Ukraine hosts Belgium at Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia on Thursday before the reverse fixture at Cegeka Arena on Sunday.

Kieran Tierney is back in contention for Scotland as they face Greece in the Nations League A Qualification. The first leg is on Thursday at Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki, Greece, followed by the second leg at Hampden Park, Scotland, on Sunday.

Martin Ødegaard will lead Norway in their World Cup qualifying campaign with an away match against Moldova on Saturday, followed by a trip to Israel on Tuesday. Jacob Kiwior's Poland faces Lithuania in Warsaw on Friday before hosting Malta on Monday.

Gabriel has been called up for Brazil's CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers. They face Colombia at Arena BRB Mané Garrincha on Friday, followed by a showdown with Argentina at Estadio Monumental on Wednesday. Brazil currently sits fifth in the qualification table.

Thomas Partey and Ghana host Chad in their opening World Cup qualifier on Friday at Accra. They will then travel to face Madagascar at Al Hoceima. Ghana is currently second in the CAF qualification group on goal difference.
