No other player other than Liverpool's Egyptian King, Mohammed Salah and Chelsea's Cole Palmer have more goals and assists to their names than Arsenal's right-wing man and England international Bukayo Saka. Saka has featured 16 times for the Gunners and has 15G/A to his name this season.
On Saturday, 21st of December, Arsenal simply thrashed Crystal Palace twice in one week beating them five goals to one. However, a game full of joy ended someway in mixed feelings for the Arsenal fan base and team as their main man had to walk off with the help of crutches from Selhurst Park.
Arsenal news - Arsenal's main man to be sidelined for weeks
Saka suffered a blow to his hamstring and had to be substituted off during the first half of the game around the 24th minute. Arsenal fans had been optimistic by believing it was only but a minor injury. Unfortunately that seems not to be the case as Arsenal have announced this morning that the 23 year old England international would miss about 10 games.
Not only would his absence be missed in the English top flight but the UEFA Champions League as well, considering that the five times he’s featured for them in the European competition this season, he’s scored four and assisted two.
According to the Times, Saka would likely be sidelined for about four to Six weeks. Considering that the Gunners are just about to enter a very busy schedule of the season this would ultimately be a big blow. Saka will miss fixtures as that at home to Ipswich on the Friday the 27th of December, a crucial away trip to in form Brentford on Wednesday the 1st of January 2025, a North London derby at home against Tottenham on Wednesday the 15th of January, 2025 and other important fixtures as those against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa should his injury go as far as six weeks.
To some this is terrible news at a crucial point in the season, to others this is somewhat not entirely bad considering that once favorite Gabriel Jesus has resurrected from his remains bagging five goals against Crystal Palace in two games, could have actually been more.
It remains to be seen how Spanish and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta would work around with his remaining squad. To you, is this bad news or a blessing in disguise?
