2. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s improvement
Like most Chelsea players, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall had a first half to forget. He struggled significantly, but in the second half, his positioning was slightly deeper compared to the first. The introductions of Marc Cucurella and Cole Palmer also helped him.
The former Leicester City man looked more composed on the ball and contributed at both ends of the pitch. His goal, the only one of the game, was a testament to his improved performance after the break. His availability also allowed Enzo Maresca to rest Enzo Fernández for the second half, ensuring he remains fresh ahead of the London derby this weekend.
The match and his performance will mean a lot for Dewsbury-Hall. Things have not been smooth for him since he arrived at Chelsea. Despite starring under Maresca in the Championship last season, he has not been afforded many opportunities at Chelsea. There was even talk of him leaving in the January transfer window.
