Tottenham have not won any of their last fourteen Premier League Matches when they conceded, a trend that hasn't boded well for manager Ange Postecoglu and his Spurs squad. Suppose Daniel Levy moves on from Postecoglu as the club's manager. Manchester United is hiring Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP, and Tottenham may be going in the same direction.
It might be premature or impatient for Spurs to give Postecoglu the sack, given the injuries throughout the squad this season to Micky van de Ven. Hiring a manager now will set up a January window where a new manager could move or two to insert a foothold in the clubhouse.
3 managers to replace Ange Postecoglu at Tottenham Hotspur
Kieran McKenna - Ipswich Town
Looking around social media right now, especially on Spurs pages, you'll see the Ipswich Town Manager Kieran McKenna being linked to the job via Transfersdotcom, making him a sure-fire pick to be one of the front-runners.
The Ipswich Town manager has links to Tottenham, having played as a youth player with the club in 2002. Despite never being able to play for Tottenham's senior team, McKenna built a unique footballing resume. Before becoming the Manager of Ipswich Town in 2021, he was an assistant manager for Manchester United, working under Jose Mourinho, most notably during their second-place finish in 2018.
United fans mentioned his name in many social media circles to be hired. It's easy to see why he's mentioned, as Ipswich Town is competitive enough to avoid relegation, an achievement that cannot be glossed over.
He just signed a four-year contract extension in the summer with Ipswich Town, so like Manchester United's Amorim hire from Sporting, McKenna must be compensated by Tottenham for returning to the club.
Graham Potter - Unemployed
Chelsea FC is having a terrific rebound season, led by manager Enzo Maresca. Former Brighton and Hove Albion and Chelsea manager Graham Potter has not been on the sidelines of the Premier League since Chelsea sacked him. However, even though he wasn't the right hire at a chaotic time in Chelsea FC's history, one cannot ignore what Brighton and Hove Albion achieved with him as the club's manager.
McKenna's prior link to Tottenham Hotspur aside, Potter's Brighton sides played a style that could suit this Spurs side well, especially for Dominik Solanke, Tottenham's record signing. Of course, Postecoglu's problem was not having any healthy CBs.
A lot of Potter's success was attributed to selling quality players such as Marc Cucurella, Yves Bissouma, and Neal Maupay. Despite this, Potter is still a top 8 side and the disparity between what the teams can spend starts to separate in massive proportions. Tottenham could lose Heung-Min Son this summer after a long stint as a star for the club. Brighton's player evaluation staff would be a wise staff addition by default based on their track record.
Marco Silva - Fulham
This will likely not gain traction, but Marco Silva deserves much praise for managing Fulham since 2021. Fulham was a club that was on a seesaw between the top of the Championship and the relegation zone in the Premier League. Fulham had just fired Scott Parker, and Silva has since remained the manager.
The Portuguese manager has been managing on British soil since resigning from Sporting CP in 2015 over their internal turmoils at the club. Silva had previously worked at Watford and Everton in the Premier League. In his first season at Goodison Park for the Toffees, Silva finished eighth but was fired in December 2019.
Fulham has always managed to field talented squads, and Silva has been able to utilize the talents of his team, and the results have shown this. Despite being in 10th, Fulham are only two points behind Nottingham Forrest, and let's not sleep on that draw vs. Arsenal. Silva may utilize Maddison and Solanke as he's done with Smith Rowe and Jimenez.
