Now, as we head into the final international break of 2023, the Premier League table and the standout players are starting to take shape.

We’ve had to wait a bit, but the Premier League is finally starting to break off into its standard groups. The title contenders, the chasing pack, the mid-table clubs, and the relegation-threatened teams are all becoming a bit more clear. That’s not to say that anything is decided just yet because as everyone knows, you can’t win (or lose) a league in November – just ask Tottenham or Arsenal.

So, let’s look at the team of the season so far in this year’s Premier League, starting with the goalkeeper.

(4-3-3)

GK: Guglielmo Vicario (Spurs)

While his arrival in north London may not have been met with the excitement he has now earned, he has made his mark quickly in this Spurs side. Even the move for David Raya from Premier League rivals Arsenal had more hype surrounding the player. Coming from Serie A side Empoli, he has made a seamless transition into life in the Premier League.

With 4 clean sheets so far, along with 39 saves and boasting one of the highest save percentages in the league, it’s hard to argue Vicario’s place in this side given so many other goalkeepers have been highlighted for not living up to expectations.
