Chelsea have quite certainly improved over the course of this season. A win over Tottenham Hotspur and draws against Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City show that this team can compete with the best in the world. Where they seem to struggle is getting wins against teams who are looking to sit back and make it difficult for the Blues.

Nicolas Jackson has scored four goals over the past two games. But overall, he does not seem to be ready to lead the line for Chelsea just yet.

If they are to compete with the best, they need an elite striker. And the good news for them is that Victor Osimhen seems to be open to the prospect of a move to Chelsea.

As reported by TEAMtalk, sources close to Osimhen state that he would be interested in a conversation with Chelsea over a potential move. The Nigerian international is believed to be top of the Blues’ list of striker targets.

Osimhen open to holding talks with Chelsea

Napoli might not be doing as well as they were last season when they won the Serie A title and were playing some of the best football in all of Europe. But that has not stopped Osimhen from scoring consistently. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has 6 goals and 1 assist in 10 appearances so far.

Osimhen is widely considered one of the best strikers in the world right now. And he is still just 24 years of age. So, someone like him could be a long-term solution to Chelsea’s problems.

That being said, Romelu Lukaku has thrived in Serie A over the years too but failed to deliver at Chelsea. So, the Blues must make sure that Osimhen fits the style of football that they are playing and has the profile to succeed in the Premier League before making a move.
