Manchester United need to buck their ideas up and they must do it fast. Their humiliating 3-0 loss at home against their rivals Man City showed the difference between Erik ten Hag’s side and a world-class side.

Admittedly, the start of this season hasn’t been the easiest for Erik ten Hag, who has been dealt with injury concerns and other off-field issues. The main off-field issue involves Jadon Sancho, who could soon follow the same path as Cristiano Ronaldo, who was also exiled by Erik ten Hag.

As per the reputable outlet Calciomercato, Manchester United have emerged as the favourites to sign AC Milan winger Rafael Leao. Should he be sold by Milan in January, then Man United will be the front runners to sign him, so the report claims.

I must admit, this does make sense. Rafael Leao is everything that Man United fans wanted Sancho to be. Not only is he skilful, technical and productive, but he has a high work rate and will not give up in training like some Man United wingers.

The signing of Leao would elevate Man United to new heights. At the moment, the players get away with being subpar. Bringing in an established professional like Leao who has worked with some great players already in his career will snap that poor mentality out of some of the players.
