Mikel Arteta is expected to name a strong lineup vs West Ham tonight, but he may consider playing one of four Arsenal wonderkids who are in contention.

Arsenal treat cup competitions with respect. More often than not, they put out teams that are worthy of winning the game, regardless of the level of competition. However, there’s no denying that with the busy Premier League schedule, matched with that of the Champions League, Mikel Arteta will use the game against West Ham tonight as a chance to rotate his squad.

There are some players on the fringe of first-team football who could be given an opportunity tonight, as well as some younger players who could be introduced to the game to make a name for themselves.

Arsenal pride themselves with having a great youth academy. Some products to come out of Hale End include Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah. Many of which made a name for themselves in cup competition, so the same fate could be followed by some of their juniors tonight.

According to a report from Football London, Arsenal youngsters are on standby as they could be called upon tonight. The report suggests that recent training information has indicated that Ethan Nwaneri, Jimi Gower, Bradley Ibrahim and Myles Lewis-Skelly are the most likely quartet to be introduced tonight, if any at all.

Arsenal fans were given a taste of what Ethan Nwaneri could provide in pre-season, so it’ll be good to get a professional runout tonight. There’s a reason why Manchester City came calling for the youngster in the summer. Myles Lewis-Skelly is another player who has been knocking on the door recently, with Jimi Gower and Bradley Ibrahim impressing in the youth setup.
