Liverpool Predicted Lineup (Nov. 1) – Liverpool will travel to the south-coast for their round of 16 EFL cup fixture against AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday. The Reds are coming off a win in the Premier League, thumping Nottingham Forest 3-0. Given the mid-week match, Jurgen Klopp will be forced into making some changes from the weekend and preparing for their next Premier League match on November 5th against Luton Town. The Top Flight provides our Liverpool Predicted Lineup for their clash with Bournemouth in the EFL Cup.
Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to start between the sticks for Liverpool as he usually does in domestic cup competitions. The Republic of Ireland international gave up just one goal in the Reds’ win over Leicester City in the EFL Cup third round.
Joe Gomez will be given the nod at right-back to provide some rest for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate could very well be rested, too, prompting veteran Joel Matip and youngster Jarell Quansah to start together in a centre-back duo. With Robertson out and Kostas Tsimikas playing against Forest, Luke Chambers is in line for a start in this fixture.
Wataru Endo will be expected to be the anchor in the Liverpool midfield, and there’s a host of midfielders who could start alongside him. Harvey Elliott came off the bench against Nottingham Forest, making him a strong candidate for a start. Curtis Jones is now available again after his suspension for his red card against Tottenham Hotspur in September. The English midfielder gets the nod over Ryan Gravenberch whilst Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai get well-earned rest.
Liverpool will likely go with a strong attack as they rest players elsewhere in the lineup. It will be no surprise that Diogo Jota and Mo Salah start, with Cody Gakpo replacing Darwin Nunez from their last starting XI.
Liverpool Predicted Lineup: Kelleher, Gomez, Matip, Quansah, Chambers, Endo, Elliott, Jones, Jota, Gakpo, Salah
