As Mikel Arteta travels across London to face David Moyes in the EFL Cup, here’s the Arsenal predicted lineup vs West Ham United.
Arsenal predicted lineup vs West Ham
Starting between the sticks, I can see an Aaron Ramsdale appearance here. It will be a rare start for the England international since he seems to be the preferred option for Mikel Arteta in cup competitions.
He will be covered by a centre back pairing of Gabriel and Jakub Kiwior. With Gabriel rested at the weekend, it will be William Saliba who is rested in this match. The two can certainly play together. On the right flank will be Ben White, who was subbed off at the weekend, likely with this game in mind and on the left it will be Takehiro Tomiyasu who is in great form.
In defensive midfield, Declan Rice will get the nod against his former side. He will be respectful and hopefully get a good reception against the Hammers. Dictating the play in midfield will be Jorginho, who is composed and could be well utilised by Mikel Arteta and providing the creativity will be Martin Odegaard, who is unlikely to miss two games in a row.
Starting as the centre forward will be Eddie Nketiah. The England international scored a hat-trick in his last match against Sheffield United and having a good history against West Ham, he’ll hope to continue his goal scoring form.
On the right flank could be Reiss Nelson, allowing some rest for Bukayo Saka. Then, on the left it will be Leandro Trossard, who is the go-to players for occasions like this, affording some rest for Martinelli who could be utilised from the bench.
Arsenal predicted lineup vs West Ham: Ramsdale; White, Gabriel, Kiwior, Tomiyasu; Rice, Jorginho, Odegaard; Nelson, Trossard, Nketiah
