Chelsea and Manchester United are set to battle it out in the transfer market for TWO star signings, including a £104m wonderkid.

Chelsea are known to be big spenders in the transfer window, but so are Manchester United. Although the Red Devils tend to take the moral high ground and claim their owners are the worst in the world, they have spent heavily in the transfer market in recent years too, so there’s no excuse.

However, the two under-performing clubs are set to lock horns for a duo that could seriously change their fate around.

Manchester United and Chelsea battle for STAR duo, including £104m wonderkid

According to a report by TEAMtalk (via 90min), Chelsea will rival Manchester United for the signing of Benfica wonderkid Joao Neves. The teenage midfielder has a release clause of a whopping £104m, which is common for Benfica wonderkids, so this could be activated if either club feel he is a necessity.

Furthermore, the two clubs could battle for another player, this time, though, he is a wing-back. As per the same source, Chelsea and Manchester United are both interested in signing Federico Dimarco of Inter Milan. The 25-year-old who can play as left-back, wing-back and centre-back is of interest to both sides for his sheer versatility, particularly since contract talks broke down between him and the Serie A side.

With two Premier League clubs in similar positions and periods of transition, it’s not a surprise to see they are locating the same players. Given that Poch and Ten Hag both bring fresh tactical visions and are two of the most astute tacticians in the world, it could make for some interesting transfer battles in the upcoming windows.

Meanwhile, Chelsea would like to sign this fringe Arsenal goalkeeper.

Do you think Manchester United or Chelsea will win the race for this dynamic duo?
