CM – Thomas Partey: Was an unused sub against Chelsea and given his return to full fitness, I would expect Partey to make his first start since his injury. As Arteta looks to control the midfield and make it a much calmer game than Lens was, Partey’s role in the defensive midfield position will be pivotal.

CM – Declan Rice: Simply amazing. The signing of the summer as far as Arsenal fans are concerned. The Englishman simply has to play whenever he is fit as he demonstrated against Chelsea that he’s capable of turning the game around with just one involvement. Playing further forward thanks to Partey, Rice will take advantage of the occasion.

CM – Emile Smith Rowe: Somebody has to say it, Martin Odegaard has been woeful in recent weeks. With Emile Smith Rowe knocking at the door, Arteta should use this as an opportunity to rest his captain and deploy a player looking to get his confidence back. Odegaard will bounce back, and could play a vital role from the bench in this match.
