Versatile Arsenal defender Ben White issues a big update on his future

Another Arsenal player could dedicate his future to Arsenal. The versatile defender Ben White has an important update on his future.

Over the last few seasons, there has been a real resurgence as far as Arsenal are concerned. Mikel Arteta has got his current crop of players playing the way the great club should be. Admittedly, he has been helped from a tactical perspective by the versatile players in the squad.

As far as versatility goes, Ben White excels in this regard. Originally signed as a centre back, White has been converted to a right-back but he has played both positions at the start of this season.

White’s importance to the side has been shown on two occasions. One of them being when Jurrien Timber signed. Admittedly, Timber has been injured for most of his Arsenal stay so far but on the few occasions he has been available, it hasn’t been to the detriment of Ben White. Furthermore, when Arteta trialled Thomas Partey at right-back, it wasn’t White who missed out, but instead Gabriel.

With that in mind, you can understand why Mikel Arteta is accelerating his efforts to extend the contract of Ben White to keep him at the Emirates Stadium for longer.

Ben White wants to stay at Arsenal

According to a recent interview Ben White did with Sky Sports, the feeling is reciprocated from the player’s perspective. When asked whether White wanted to stay at Arsenal, his reply was a simple “Yeah, of course.”
