Arsenal may have to rethink their transfer strategy for the upcoming transfer windows, if recent news is to be believed.

Arsenal have got off to an exceptional start in the 2023/24 Premier League season. They are one of only two clubs who have started the season unbeaten – The other club shall not be named.

Admittedly, the work in the transfer market from Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar is to thank for the continuation of the great form from last season. Some big signings were made in the summer, including Declan Rice and David Raya, both players have had a significant impact in their respective positions.

But like any great manager, Arteta is a perfectionist. The Spanish boss isn’t satisfied until his side shows they’re a great side. In football, this directly translates to winning trophies. Of course, they came close last season, but this time out, they want to go all the way. One position which needs to be upgraded for this to be possible is the striker role.

Arsenal target Victor Osimhen has “changed his mind”, says Napoli president

According to a report from Metro, the president of Napoli has suggested that the club’s star Victor Osimhen is likely to leave as soon as possible, with the player changing his mind on the club after mistreatment on social media. The report suggests Arsenal are likely contenders to sign Osimhen, however, this would be a summer move if anything.

Certainly, Osimhen would be a better option than Arteta’s current options. Gabriel Jesus is an excellent attacker, but he isn’t an out-and-out centre forward who guarantees goals. Further, he’s injured more often than not. Secondly, Nketiah gets into great positions but doesn’t provide enough in the build-up play. Osimhen can do both of those things.
