Jamal Musiala has established himself as one of the best U-21 talents in the world. He’s become Bayern Munich’s star, and any of the club’s success depends on Musiala being a massive contributor. While his contract does not expire until 2026, talks had been ongoing between Bayern and Musiala before things went quiet. This has prompted reports to link the player elsewhere, such as Liverpool.

Reports out of Germany have suggested Liverpool have interest in Jamal Musiala, and his contract talks stalling has added fuel to the fire. All of a sudden, Musiala to Anfield is being discussed as a possibility. Even with that said, there is a big reason why this is likely all fantasy for the Reds.

To sign Jamal Musiala, Liverpool would undoubtedly have to break their record transfer fee currently held by Darwin Nunez (counting add-ons). More importantly, Jamal Musiala likely has zero desire to leave Bayern Munich, given his superstar role with the club. Fabrizio Romano explains via his YouTube channel that negotiations between Musiala and Bayern have likely died down because of a change in management.

Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic both left the club immediately after Bayern won the Bundesliga last season. Former RB Leipzig director Christoph Freund is now in charge, and long-time Borussia Monchengladbach director Max Eberl may also be joining Bayern. With new management in charge, they have yet to spark new talks with Jamal Musiala’s camp, but that’s far from the idea that the talks have stopped completely. Conversations will likely come in due time, and Bayern Munich should have zero reason to panic over Musiala’s situation.

He is not the only player to have gone through this situation at Bayern recently. Alphonso Davies is the center of speculation of a move to either Real Madrid or Manchester City. This has come down to the new people in charge at Bayern not initiating talks as of now.
