Manchester United may entertain certain offers for their flop defenders with European clubs eyeing him. Erik ten Hag already has a replacement.
Although the international break has put a halt to proceedings, Erik ten Hag still has plenty to contemplate about the remainder of the season. As we approach the second quarter, there is still plenty of work for the Dutch manager to do, with the first quarter being an absolute write-off.
However, like any great club, fans are optimistic about the future with Erik ten Hag. It’s certainly a long-term process as he aims to become even half the manager that Sir Alex was during his time. If last season is anything to go by, then he has the minerals to lead this project.
But there are certain players who need to be cut for the long-term health of the club. Obviously, Jadon Sancho needs to be sold in January but he isn’t the only one. Some flop players need to finally cut ties, for example Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial.
Manchester United could sell Harry Maguire with his upgrade in mind
Speaking of the English defender, he is subject to a move away. According to a report by talkSPORT (via 90min), Serie A side Milan have emerged as shock contenders to sign Maguire, with a number of Italian clubs interested in signing him. Furthermore, West Ham are still keen on the deal, after they failed to secure his signature in the summer transfer window.
Thankfully, Manchester United are wasting no time in replacing. Well, replacing may be the wrong verb, since they’re actually upgrading him. The Top Flight recently claimed that United were interested in signing the “true leader” Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. Certainly, the dynamic defender would be a much better choice than the former United captain.
Do you think Marc Guehi is a better choice for Man United than Harry Maguire?
