In today’s Chelsea injury news – Mauricio Pochettino is set to miss this £58m midfielder, yet to make his debut, for another MONTH.

Chelsea have started the season abysmally. I give them minimal credit only for securing back-to-back wins in the Premier League of late. This is the least you’d expect from a club who has spent a fortune on signings in the last year.

But still, a winning run is good news for Mauricio Pochettino. His real test comes against Arsenal after the international break. With their London rivals in hot form, Chelsea could look to turn around their fortune against top half clubs.

However, they’ll hope that Chelsea injury news goes in their favour.

It’s not great news for Mauricio Pochettino. According to an update from the Daily Mail, Chelsea’s £58m summer signing Romeo Lavia, who is yet to make an appearance for the club since he was signed from Southampton, is set to be ruled out for another month.

The report claims that Lavia will be back in contention towards the end of November. This is due to an ankle injury which the Belgium international picked up within Chelsea training.

This isn’t great for Mauricio Pochettino or the player. As the Argentine boss seeks to understand his best midfield formula, to be without a £58m signing complicates the matter. Furthermore, from the player’s perspective, he’ll fall further down the pecking order as Moises Caicedo doesn’t look like being dropped anytime soon. Hopefully, Lavia will recover in plenty of time as it would be a shame to see his potential tarnished.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino has made a crucial decision on the future of Trevoh Chalobah.

Do you think Romeo Lavia has a bright Chelsea future, or will he go down as another flop?
