Manchester United have made a very important decision on Scott McTominay’s future, after the Scottish midfielder saved Erik ten Hag recently.

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay was the hero for Manchester United in their last Premier League match. He came off the bench to grab two goals, turning around a previous one-goal deficit. Had McTominay not provided the brace, United’s position in the league table could’ve been a lot different, whereas now they sit in tenth place.

Of course, the objective for United is to contend for the title. Given their start, it looks unlikely but the table is tight and a couple of good results could flip the table quickly.

Manchester United are in no rush to sell Scott McTominay

According to a report from 90min, Manchester United have made a decision on the immediate future of Scott McTominay. The report claims that Erik ten Hag is in no rush to sell McTominay, despite his links away in the summer. However, if the right price comes in for the Scotland international, then United would consider selling him.

At the moment, the Red Devils have a lot of deadwood in their squad that could do with replacing. For example, selling Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial for some solid upgrades should take priority over the likes of Scott McTominay, who is still a great backup option to have in the midfield for Ten Hag.

McTominay has always been a fringe player and given the quality in the midfield for United, I cannot see this changing anytime soon. However, for as long as United can keep him happy, they should keep him at the club. As proven last weekend, he’s a great rotational player to have on the books.

Meanwhile, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made his first takeover promise.
