Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is always hungry to improve. That said, it’s no surprise to see him target this world-class World Cup winner.

Pep Guardiola has had quite the illustrious career. While some claim it’s still too early to say this, those who know ball recognise him as the best manager of all time. It’s all well and good saying he’s always had unlimited money to spend at every club, but apply that same logic to the failed PSG and Manchester United managers in recent history, for example.

Over the course of his managerial career, the Spanish boss has worked with many of the best players in the world. Managing at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City, his spells have been over the tutelage of some of the best talents.

At this moment in time, though, Man City are struggling. They are without their best midfield options, with Kevin De Bruyne ruled out for a while through injury and Rodri suspended for being too reckless. In all honesty, Pep is lucky that his summer signing Mateo Kovacic isn’t suspended either, after he probably had 1.5 expected red cards against Arsenal, but picked up only a yellow.

Manchester City target world-class free agent who has won the World Cup

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Manchester City are early contenders to sign Toni Kroos on a free deal when his Real Madrid contract expires next summer. The Germany midfielder could be offered up to £13m per season if he chooses to sign for Man City.

Playing under Pep won’t be new to Kroos. The maestro midfielder spent a year working with Pep Guardiola in his final year at Bayern Munich before signing for Real Madrid. Certainly, it was a great year they spent together, winning the Bundesliga (obviously), the DFB-Pokal, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

Meanwhile, this Man City midfielder is of interest to Spurs.
